Privacy Policy
Effective Date: March 3, 2026
Syntay ("we", "our", or "us") built the GeoLens application (the "App") as a free,
ad-supported application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when
you use our App.
Summary: GeoLens processes location and camera data on your device to create geotagged
photos. We do not collect or store your personal photos on our servers. We use Firebase and AdMob services
which may collect analytics and advertising data as described below.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide
- Project Data: Project names, client names, and surveyor names you enter when creating
projects within the App.
1.2 Information Collected Automatically
Location Data
When you grant location permission, the App accesses your device's GPS to:
- Embed GPS coordinates, altitude, and heading into photo overlays and EXIF metadata
- Display your current position on the camera screen
Location data is processed locally on your device and stored only within the photos you capture and the local
database on your device.
Camera and Microphone
The App uses your device's camera to capture photos and videos with geotagged overlays. The microphone is used
solely for recording audio during video capture. All captured media is stored locally on your device.
Device and Usage Data (via Third-Party Services)
We use the following third-party services that may collect information:
- Google Firebase Analytics: Collects anonymous usage statistics such as app opens, screen
views, and feature usage to help us improve the App.
- Firebase Crashlytics: Collects crash reports including device model, OS version, and stack
traces to help us identify and fix bugs.
- Firebase Performance Monitoring: Collects performance metrics such as app startup time and
network latency.
- Firebase Remote Config: Delivers configuration parameters to the App. No personal data is
collected through this service.
- Google AdMob: Serves advertisements within the App. AdMob may collect device identifiers
(including the Advertising ID), IP address, and interaction data to serve personalized or non-personalized
ads. See Google's Privacy Policy for details.
1.3 Advertising ID
The App collects Google's Advertising ID to support ad delivery through AdMob. You can reset or opt out of
personalized advertising through your device's settings under Settings > Google > Ads.
2. How We Use Your Information

and features.
- Advertising: Displaying ads within the App through Google AdMob.
